Finally I’ve found some time to change the look of my blog. I’ve changed the theme to one that is similar to what I planned to build myself. I’ve realised that it is much quicker to get a ready built theme and modify it slightly than start from scratch!
Also you may have noticed that there is a photo at the top of my blog now. There are several random images that will appear so it will be different everytime. All the photos are original material that I have taken on my travels (unlike some other popular sites…. 
) I hope you enjoy my site and as usual please make comments and stay tuned for more additions and changes as the year progresses!

I feel that having the one Header (which by the way was chosen by popular vote) increases public awareness and helps in brand building.

Brand building doesn’t matter too much for a personal site though I see your point.
