I went to Nowa Huta which was built as a model socialist city in the 1950s and 60s to house the workers of the Nowa Huta (New Steelworks). Although one would expect the usual mix of grey boring blocks with plenty of socialist architecture there is also a surprising amount of older churches and houses.
